Where to Start With London James: A Reader’s Guide to Every Series

I get some version of this message in my inbox almost every week: “I just found your books and I have no idea where to start!” And honestly? I love that message. There’s nothing better than knowing someone’s about to fall down the same rabbit hole I’ve been happily lost in for years.

So I thought it was finally time to put together an actual guide — one place with all five of my series, what makes each one different, and where I’d point you if you walked up to me at a book signing and asked “okay, but really, where do I start?”

Miss Mabel’s Matchmaking Registry is where most readers land first, and for good reason — it’s the biggest series (eleven books and counting) and the easiest to dip in and out of. Every book follows a different couple that Miss Mabel, the frontier’s most stubborn matchmaker, decides needs a nudge toward love whether they asked for it or not. Start withThe Blacksmith’s Stubborn Bride — it’s the first one I wrote in this world, and it still might be my favorite.

Brides of Lone Hollow is for readers who want their mail-order bride romance with a little more mystery mixed in — secrets, misunderstandings, and small towns where everybody’s got an opinion. Start with Her Mail Order Mix-Up.

Oregon Trail Brides lives on the trail itself — romance unfolding mile by mile, wagon wheel creaking, danger always one ridge away, and a tenderness underneath it all that I love writing. Start with Her Oregon Trail Doctor.

Wagon Train Women is set on that same westward journey, but leans a little more suspenseful — secrets, disguises, and more than one character running from something. Start with Her Wagon Train Husband.

Featherstone Valley is my newest world, and it’s close to my heart — small-town, faith-forward, slower-burn romances in a mountain town that already feels like home to me even though I made it up. The series is ongoing! There are five books out, with six and seven coming in 2026 and 2027. Start with Blessings in Featherstone Valley.

However you find your way in, I’m just glad you’re here. So tell me — which series are you most curious about? Drop it in the comments, and I’ll tell you exactly which book to pick up next.
